Late in our childhood when the laptops didn’t exist ,cell phones and Internet was almost non-existent ,The only way to survive was Fashion TV(FTV) and its midnight show (ya that smirk on the face of most of the male population in India) .90’s kids can relate to it very well.

Turning ON the TV at night was a mission in itself(Especially when you are already turned ON). So, the TV was placed in the common room and all rooms are attached to it.

  • The first thing was to close the door curtains of all the rooms and fixing the TV at an angle where it would become the almost blind spot for other rooms to watch.
  • The second was turning ON the TV without making any sound.  So, I used to unplug the cable wire ,then turn ON the TV ,then mute, then plug back the cable wire: TV ON and no sound in the night.
  • Then have a safe channel like some news or sports channel in quick view in case someone wakes up and caught you while watching TV.
  • Then just enjoy the show and go to sleep 😛

But the thing is, not every time things go as planned and sometimes , the mission fails.

So, this one time after going through the above mentioned points and enjoying the show , I realized someone is watching me, as my sixth sense was already busy, I guess there is some 7th sense that has activated my mind to come to reality from the dreamland.

I turned my face towards my parent’s room and I can see a pair of eyes in the middle of the dark and I knew I am busted. I just froze like I saw some ghost and stood there for some seconds then I realized out of excitement I forget to down the curtains of that room earlier. 🙁

So there I was standing there, red-faced ,embarrassed ,ashamed and with my confused boner. 😐
Then I just turned OFF the TV in a hurry ,with the heart beating like dubstep ,pretending that I haven’t seen anything , I just fled away to my room.
Next day I had a long confrontation from my parents about youth ,puberty ,good things ,bad things and all sort of talks.
